Our commitment to 'Sustainability' cannot be emphasised more, than in the fact that 97% of our staff walk to work; thus ensuring the lowest possible carbon footprint.
SOUKYA's Ornamental garden (Best Ornamental Garden in Bengaluru 7 years in a row) is designed keeping in mind low-maintenance and watering. That apart, At SOUKYA, nearly 3000 trees have been planted across these years. Needless to say, this is a haven for a range of migratory birds.
Here is a set of sustainable practices that have been put in place at SOUKYA since inception. Thanks to these practices, a number of activities are designed for guests to enjoy nature at its fresh best.
We generate 220KW of power with the help of Solar Panels, which is more than sufficient to run a wide range of services and facilities at SOUKYA.
Our Wind Turbine plant generates power for lights at the dining area.
A dedicated pond is created to store water that takes care of
our garden and farm needs.
The certified Organic farms at SOUKYA plays host to a variety of vegetables, fruits and cash crops like coconuts and mangoes. This apart, a range of domestic animals that are the prime source for the SOUKYA kitchen and medicine production line. For example, cows and goats provide pure milk.
SOUKYA's medicinal garden grows over 130 varieties of ayurvedic, herbal and aromatic plants providing for about 80% of the ingredients for the in-house production of high quality, ayurvedic oils and medicines supervised by Ayurvedic doctors.
Every day about 30 kilograms of cow dung along with vegetable and fruit waste and leftover food are used to generate 6 hours' of continuous cooking gas per day.
Earthworms are significant contributors to organic farming and sustainable agriculture.
